NEVER HIDE - Ray Ban

For the 75 Year Legends campaign, one of the Ray Ban campaign posters featured a grainy, vintage looking photograph of two very well dressed men holding hands with the people in the background staring at them (with what looks like disgust).
Now I know this image isn’t anything i’ve shot or been a part of but I found this image compelling to look at in (what some might still see as a) controversial Ad Campaign for one of the worlds most successful brand of Eyewear.
We are now living in 2012 and this campaign says “be part of the Legend on ray-ban.com” which clearly implies that everyone should be proud of who they are and be proud of the Ray Ban brand for supporting Gay Rights. The NEVER HIDE title again is very striking and bold showing that there should be no issue with Gay Marriages or Gay Rights and with the picture itself looking rather 1940’s with the tweed and herringbone suits, large lapels and pocket-hankerchiefs, it shows that the world shouldn’t have any issues with Gay Rights whatever the era.

The ad is part of the Ray Ban campaign and in 2007 was described;
“Having the courage to express your true self, your thoughts and your personality genuinely, to stay faithful to the values of authenticity and uniqueness have, in fact, made up the DNA of the Ray-Ban brand since its beginning in 1937 to today. And it is these qualities that characterize true leaders.”

A phenomenal ad campaign that speaks out and includes everyone in their brand, showing no prejudice or exclusivity.
